Instrumental ADLs

Instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) are not necessary for fundamental functioning, but allow an individual to live independently in a community. A useful mnemonic is SHAFT: shopping, housekeeping, accounting, food preparation/meds, telephone/transportation.
